Janice Crawley, 84, of
Camby, IN passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. She was born on November 9, 1941, in
Lime Springs, Iowa, to the late William and Elva Souhrada.
Janice had a lifelong love of music and shared her remarkable talent as a singer with numerous live bands throughout her life.
Raised on a farm, she developed a deep appreciation for hard work, outdoors, and animals. She took great joy in her flowers. She loved gardening, and caring for all sorts of animals, horses, cows, donkeys, chickens, goats, pigs, turkeys, and even emus.
Her interests were many and diverse, including playing the guitar, singing, and joyfully competing and playing jokes on her brothers, something that brought laughter and lasting memories to those around her.
As a young mother she was a talented seamstress who lovingly created stylish, one-of-a-kind outfits that Renee and Tammy proudly wore as young girls. She was also a gifted artist, known for her beautifully hand painted ceramics, and possessed a remarkable musical ability, playing numerous instruments with ease, including the guitar, banjo, accordion, piano, drums, and even the stand-up bass. She was truly an extraordinarily talented woman.
Above all, Janice loved people. In her later years, she found great joy in her work as a cashier at Walmart, where her warm smile and friendly nature led to lasting friendships with coworkers and guests alike.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Renee Ridner, Tammy Malone (Jeff Capps), and Darren Priebe; stepchild, Jere Crawley; grandchildren, Jason (Adrienne) Millet, Danny Malone, David Evan Malone, Ryan Ridner, Andrew (Megan) Ridner, Cassandra (TJ) Twigg, Taylor Priebe, and Danielle Priebe; step-grandchildren, Meara and Mason Capps; great grandchildren, Jade and Nolan Ridner, Nash and Avery Twigg, Evelyn and Thea Ridner; step-great grandchildren, Jensen and Maebriegh Capps Davenport.
Janice was preceded in death by her companion, Ronald Sutton; her parents, William and Elva Souhrada; her brothers, Eugene Souhrada and Duane Souhrada; and son in law, Jimmy Ridner.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135,
