Funeral services are set for Monday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m., for Janice Marie Cron, 74, who passed away Dec. 21, 2025.
Pastor Allan Swinson of the Tyro Christian Church will officiate at the service in the Potts Funeral Chapel, Caney. Burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery, Coffeyville.
Janice had been a resident of Caney for the past 60 years, last residing at Caney Guest Home Estates.
She was born Jan. 30, 1951, in Lyons, Kan., to her parents, Vernon and Patty Cron. She moved with her family to several communities where her father worked, arriving in Caney in 1965 where she attended Caney High School, graduating in 1970.
After graduating from high school, she enrolled at Tri-County Tech where she became a Certified Nurse Aide, and worked at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, and later at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She especially enjoyed working in pediatrics with babies and children.
Due to disabilities, Janice was unable to continue working at the hospital. She began working at Kopco and the Caney Chronicle before retiring.
Janice was a member of the Tyro Christian Church.
Survivors include her mother, Patty Cron of Caney; and sisters, Judy Kok (Ed), Caney; Jean Byrd, Caney; Jonita Biggerstaff, Caney; and Julie Hester, Altamont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Cron, a brother, Jimmy Cron, and a brother-in-law, Bradley Biggerstaff, all of Caney.
Memorials are going to the American Heart Association, and may be left at Potts Chapel, Caney.
