Janice Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Mortuary - Salem on Dec. 23, 2025.
Janice Lavern (Hamilton) Davis, the daughter of Robert and Woody (Dunlap) Hamilton was born November 23, 1938, in Sligo, Missouri. Janice grew up in Salem and attended Salem High School. On February 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Wayne Davis.

Janice and Kenneth built a beautiful life together, raising their three sons Rick, John, and Charlie, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Their grandchildren Stephanie, Jason, Beth Anne, Robin, and Adam brought them great joy. They adored their great-grandchildren Mellisa, Carleigh, Cameron, Townes, Barrett, and Lily and beloved great-great-granddaughter Daphne.

Janice was passionate about her work as a travel agent, a dream job for a woman who loved to travel as much as she did. Alongside Kenneth, they travelled to Red Lake, Ontario for five weeks every year to go fishing. They took their camper to Florida often and visited Hawaii every year for twenty years. Janice also travelled frequently with her sister Carol. She absolutely loved traveling and visiting new destinations.

A lady of faith, Janice enjoyed attending the First United Methodist Church, Blue Springs, Missouri, for many years. She was known for her boundless love, kindness, and compassion. She entered her Heavenly Home December 22, 2025, in Blue Springs, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years.

Janice is survived by her husband: Kenneth Davis of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Salem; sons: Rick Davis and wife Julie of Tampa, FL and Charlie Davis and wife Patty of Oak Grove, MO; daughter-in-law: Jackie Davis of Indiana; sister: Carol Sartain of Blue Springs, MO; brother: Robert Hamilton Jr. of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren: Stephanie Davis and Chris, Jason Davis and wife Jessie, Beth Anne Swanson and husband Craig, Robin Miller and husband Scott, and Adam Davis and wife Dayna; great-grandchildren: Mellisa, Carleigh, Cameron, Townes, Barrett, and Lily; great-great-granddaughter: Daphne; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Preceding her in death were her son: John Davis; parents: Robert and Woody (Dunlap) Hamilton; sister: Mary Smith; brother: James Hamilton; and brother-in-law: Harley Sartain.

Janice was always friendly and ready to strike up a conversation with those around her, often telling stories of her travelling adventures. Her adventurous spirit and infectious smile will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Graveside Services were held December 27, 2025, in the North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem, Missouri.
