Janice Moore DeBolt, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 8, 1946, to her late parents, Waymond and Rudell Moore. Janice, a very proud class of 1964 graduate of Arlington Heights, loved the traditions of the old school. She was a member of the marching band. She played the flute and twirled the baton. She loved to talk about her times in school. A frequent story she would recall was marching in the parade held for John F Kennedy on the morning of November 22, 1963. After graduating, she continued her education at North Texas State University, where she earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's of Arts in Elementary Education.

As a longtime resident of Lewisville, Texas, Janice dedicated her life to education. Her career as a teacher in the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) spanned 42 years. Janice was a tireless advocate for teachers' rights in Texas. She continued this service after retirement by being a member of the Lewisville Area Retired School Personnel Association. At the time of her death, she served as the current president of LARSPA. She was also a proud member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization for women educators.

Upon retiring, Janice embraced her passions for world travel and enjoyed a great adventure. Through the years, she traveled around the world both with friends and family. Above all, she loved spending time with her two grandsons, Hogan and Ian. She loved traveling with them and local adventures, especially taking them to ride the Forrest Park Train in Fort Worth.

Janice was known for her kind spirit, never having a cross word for anyone, and being a true friend to many. Janice lived a vibrant social life as an active member of numerous local groups, including book clubs, gardening clubs, cooking clubs, and several bowling leagues through the years. She had a passion for playing mahjong and was a regular at several games each week.

She is survived by her son, Devon DeBolt of Seattle, Washington; her daughter and son-in-law, Jina and Curtis Fowler; and her cherished grandsons, Hogan and Ian, all of Trophy Club, Texas. Janice will be deeply missed by her family and her wide circle of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. A memorial fund will be established in her name through the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation.
