Janice Lynn (Bruce) Gordon passed peacefully in her sleep on September 7, 2025.

Janice was born on November 19, 1953, in St. Louis, MO, to her mother, Dolores Jean (Hand) Frazer, and her late father, James O. Bruce. She was raised in Chester, IL, with her two younger sisters, Susan (Frazer) Chapman and Gina (Frazer) Deere.

Janice was the mother of two sons, Michael D. Herrell and Scotty L. Herrell, and her late daughter, Amy (Black) Kearce. She was the grandmother of nine grandchildren: Brittany, Jordan, Alyssa, Briana, Jacob, Scotty Jr., Peyton, Kobe, and Heyden. She had 8 great grandchildren.

Janice was known for her determination and resourcefulness, always finding a way to get the job done no matter the situation. Those who knew her could always count on her strength and dependability.

She displayed these qualities throughout her working career in management positions at Sparta Comic Book Factory, ABF Trucking, and Seabrook Shipyard. She loved traveling, cruising and spending time on the waters of Clear Lake, TX, with her late husband, Cecil Leonard, Jr. In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all. There is no formal memorial service planned at this time.

In remembrance of Janice, contributions may be directed to St Jude Children's Hospital, supporting the cause she cared deeply about.
