Janice Wallace Gresham, 83, of Reklaw, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Nacogdoches, Texas. A visitation for Janice will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., at Dickie-Allen Funeral Home in Cushing. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., at Walkers Chapel Cemetery in Reklaw, Texas. Bro. Paul Gates will be officiating the service.
Janice lived most her life in the Reklaw and Cushing area. She was a 1960 graduate of Rusk High School. Janice worked at the Rusk State Hospital where she earned her CNA license, the Cushing Nursing Home, and retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail route carrier. Janice enjoyed sewing alterations, making the Cushing twirling uniforms, designing clothing and crafts, and working in the hay field. She was a master seamstress and loved creating one of a kind rodeo shirts and pants. She loved attending rodeos and sporting events especially to see her grandchildren participate. Janice dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, teaching them to live a full life with hard work and determination.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents James Edwin and Tennie Mae Wallace, sisters and brother-in-laws, Reaber & Dudley Irby, Imogene & Bonnie Edwards, and Dorothy & Holman Jones. Survivors include her children: Jason Gresham and wife Gina Gresham, Janna Gates and husband Brandon Gates; grandchildren Carson Gates, Jace Gresham, and Laramie Gates; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers are Jess Duncan, Casey Tubbe, Cade Duncan, Tate Duncan, Daric Egan, Dedan Egan, and Dane Emanis. Honorary pallbearers are Jody Baggett, Dickie Gresham, Carson Gates, and Jace Gresham.
The family of Janice Gresham wishes to extend our sincere thanks to McKnight Church, Cushing First Methodist Church, Heart to Heart Hospice Care, Tammy Fuller, Brad Willis, and the numerous friends and family that have checked on her and sent prayers.
