Janice Elaine Haynes, 78, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Charleston, Born on March 26, 1947, in Florence, South Carolina, Janice was the daughter of the late Zadie Ward and Russell Ward. She lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Janice was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Paul Haynes, and a proud mother and grandmother whose family was the center of her world. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother and great-grandmother, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in her growing family.

A passionate advocate for animals, Janice had a deep love for rescue animals and dedicated her career to their care. She worked in Animal Control for both Charleston County and Berkeley County, where her compassion and commitment made a lasting impact. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping and surrounding herself with the people and pets she loved most.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Zadie Ward and Russell Ward.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Haynes of Goose Creek; her son, Rusty Haynes of Goose Creek; her daughter, Courtney Haynes of Goose Creek; her grandchildren, Taylor Haynes and Abigail Haynes of Moncks Corner, Gianni Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton of Charleston, and Rezmon Haynes of Goose Creek; and six great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services in Ladson, South Carolina.

Janice will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, her dedication to family, her compassion for animals, and the special bond she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
