Lynn - Janice C. "Jan" Hooper, 82, of Lynn, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Virginia (Morretti) Serino, and the loving wife of the late Edward Hooper.
Jan was raised and educated in Lynn. She worked for GE and Ametek for many years. More than anything, she loved traveling with her husband. Jan and Ed traveled the world and especially loved to visit their wonderful friends in England.
They also favored trips to Hawaii and California and looked forward to spending their winters in Florida. Jan cherished the time spent with her family, especially dinners out with her nieces. She also enjoyed spending her mornings with her coffee group friends at Burger King. Jan was a loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt and great aunt.
Jan will be dearly missed and is survived by her beloved siblings, Barbara Serino and Donald D. Serino; her loving nieces and nephews: Cindy Thorpe, Ruth Clark, John Thorpe, Jim Thorpe, Tina Barney, Dominic Serino, Tim Serino, Donald Serino, Joseph Manzo, Lisa, David, Madison, and Danielle Dougenik and David Manzo. She is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, as well as extended family members. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Edward Hooper, she is pre-deceased by her sisters, Louise "Chickie" Thorpe and Virginia "Ginger" Manzo.
Service Information: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129) Lynn. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
