Janice H. Jeffers, 82, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Indiana. Janice was born on May 2, 1943, to Ceo and Celia Fish in Viroqua, Wisconsin. She married Jerome "Jeff" Jeffers; he preceded her in death.
Janice earned her master's degree in Elementary Education. She retired as a teacher from the Elkhart Community Schools. She volunteered at Elkhart General Hospital where she spent time visiting with patients, and the Lerner. She served on the board at the condo where she lived, she enjoyed spending time delivering food to shut in through the Meals on Wheels program. She was a member of Trinity on Jackson Church where she taught Sunday school.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Kristen Lynn (Joe) Maddox of St. Petersburg, Florida., and Kelly Lee (Frank) Difino of Long Grove, Illinois, her grandchildren, Olivia Houpt and Samuel Christian; and her brother, Myron Fish of Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Ceo and Celia Fish, and siblings Alice Olson, Roger Fish and Ronald Fish.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514, where funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Pastor Karen Koelsch from Trinity of Jackson Church will officiate. Janice will be laid to rest at Dell Cemetery in Westby, Wisconsin, near her parents.

Please note that due to the construction on Bristol Street, you will need to go through the Martin's supermarket parking lot to get to the funeral home.
