Duanesburg, NY – Janice J. Kemp, 68, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in Schenectady on July 10, 1957, she grew up in Rotterdam and was a graduate of Mohonasen High School. For more than 25 years, Janice was a dedicated employee of SEFCU, where she served in various positions and was respected by colleagues and members alike.

Janice married the love of her life, Robert Kemp, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion. This September 26 would have marked their 40th wedding anniversary. She and Robert made their home in Duanesburg, where Janice treasured time spent with family and friends.

She was the daughter of the late Angelina LaVigne, and the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Robert and Silvia Kemp. She was also predeceased by her sister, Michelle.

Janice is survived by her husband, Robert Kemp; her sister, Paula Peek; her children, Jessica Thompson, Erica Thompson, and Nathan Miller; and her grandchildren, Tyler Montgomery, Angelina Montgomery, Ethan Thompson, and Abagail Miller. She also leaves behind her niece, Ryann LaVigne, and nephews, Dennis Garrette and Colton Mattice.

Janice will be remembered for her love of the beach and ocean, her joy in traveling and visiting craft fairs, and most of all, her deep devotion to her family.
