Janice Kennedy Obituary

She married the love of her life, Jay Kennedy, on January 18, 1955. She worked as a cook at the VA hospital for over 25 years. Corene enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, working in her flower beds, cooking for her family, and she especially loved following her kids, her grandkids, and her great grandkids to all of their events, no matter what it was. She loved her family and every moment she was able to spend with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Corene is survived by her son, Randy Kennedy of Buffalo Valley, OK; Son Michael Kennedy and wife Debbie of Buffalo Valley, OK; grandchildren, Brandon and Maggie Kennedy, Tasha and Bubba Knight, and Matt and Ashley Kennedy; great grandchildren, Gracie, Katie, Bradley, Lila, Jayda, Natalie, and Noah; Brother Arthur Brunson and wife Joyce of Talihina, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Corene is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Lillie Brunson; husband Jay Kennedy; brother, Jesse Brunson; and sister, Virginia Workman.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Kennedy, Matt Kennedy, Bubba Knight, Jesse Clyde Brunson, Justin Workman, JT Collins
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 20th, 2025 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina.
Services will be on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00AM at Yanush Assembly of God Church in Yanush, Oklahoma with Rev. Rodney Tate and Bro. Wes Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Laura McGee Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service.
