Janice Diane Bland Key. (71) of Palmyra, VA went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. God whispered her name, and she left her earthly home.
She was born on September 8, 1953, in Stage Junction, VA, to the Late George B. Bland, Sr. and Late Sallie Elnora (Taylor) Bland. She was also preceded in death by her grandson. Malik Lee, and brothers, John M. Taylor, Jr. and Jerome Bland, her maternal grandparents, Miles and Susan Jackson and paternal grandparents, Felix and Martha Bland.
Janice was a dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, worker and friend. Janice affectionately called by her siblings Diane loved to read, sew and baking her coconut pies. She was a nurturer in the family until her health declined. She joined Byrd Grove Baptist Church at an early age.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Oslow Fowler; her three children, Jacqueline "Jackie" Key, Tanya Lee and Timmy Key (Kim); six grandchildren, Brian Key, Terrell Key, Deiondre Key, Darius Key, Trinity Key and Myles Key; her two great-grandchildren, Brayson Key and Kayson Key; her siblings, George Bland, Jr. (Phyllis), Geraldine Price (Curtis), Daniel Bland, Audrey Martin (James), Beatrice Opie (Leonard), Sandra Christmas, Douglas Bland (Thelma), Donna Burruss (Robert), Marilyn Randolph (Timothy), David Bland (Hope), Ernestine (Tina) Bland; her three brothers-in-law, James Fowler, Winslow Fowler, Errol Fowler; her three sisters-in-law, Glenavie Washington, Deloris Fowler, Fannie Fowler; two aunts, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on November 30, 2024, at Sheridan Funeral Home at 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia at 10:00 a.m. and interment to follow graveside services will be held at Bland Family Cemetery, 4130 Stage Junction Rd, Columbia, VA.
