Janice Jean Nelson Martinet

March 30th, 1935 – February 16th, 2026

Janice Jean Nelson Martinet passed away on February 16, 2026. Janice was born on March 30, 1935, in Waterbury, Vermont, to Adolph (Babe) Nelson and Minnie Guyette Nelson. Prior to graduating from Waterbury High School, Janice spent her childhood enjoying the company of her older brothers and sister. During her early years, Janice spent time travelling with family and friends before settling back in Vermont. It is in Vermont where she met Michel Martinet while working at the Lodge in Stowe. They married and built a house in Stowe, where they raised four daughters.

Janice had many interests, including bird watching, reading, nature, fishing, writing, painting, and the Red Sox. Janice also took much pleasure from donating to charities, particularly children's and animal causes.

Janice's heart was always focused on her children as she was a devoted and loving mother and fierce supporter of them. Her family will carry a lifetime's worth of happy memories with their mom. She will be greatly missed every day.

Janice was predeceased by her parents and four siblings, Norm, Mack, Don Nelson, and Lorraine Nelson Clark. She leaves behind her daughters Danielle Magowan and spouse Jamey, Monica Martinet, Francine Duckworth and spouse Craig, and Nicole Ledbetter, as well as granddaughter Brianna Coache and spouse Bryan, a grandson Garrett Frawley, and two great-grandchildren Waylon and Reese Coache, and many nieces and nephews.

We love you, Mom, aka " Machie."

A private graveside service will be held in the Nelson family lot at Hope Cemetery in Waterbury, at the family's convenience. To send your condolences online, please visit perkinsparker.com.
