Thomas Martinet Obituary
Thomas G. Martinet, born on April 24, 1943, was taken home to be with Lord on August 3rd, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving children in his final moments. He was a man of immense humor, wisdom, and cherished every moment spent with his six grandchildren. He especially loved throwing his annual Christmas party and passing out green coupons. His passion for golf, fixing lawnmowers, helping out his neighbors and unwavering support for his grandkids will forever be remembered.
Tom was a lifelong member of Divine Mercy Parish St. Mary's Campus and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He started out his career at Consumers Ohio Water Company (currently known as Aqua Ohio) as a meter reader. Through his exemplary work ethic and his persuasive knack at talking with customers, he worked his way up the corporate ladder to be a successful manager were he was well known among his colleagues. After his retirement, it would be common for him to stop and chat with the Aqua Ohio guys at a water main break, share stories of his days in the field and give tips on how to fix the problem.
He is welcomed into the gates of heaven by his wife, Cynthia L (Graber) Martinet. His parents, Elizabeth and Lawrence Martinet, also proceeded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Anne (Fred) Stephens and brothers, Robert (late Barbara) and Michael Martinet. He is survived by his children, Melissa Dressler, Marc (Diana) Martinet, and Kristen Kaplanis. Papa Tom is also survived by grandchildren, Kate, Anthony, Wyatt, Brody, Riley, and Regan, all of whom will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
The family will honor Tom's wishes to have a private memorial service. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the family and friends who reached out and prayed for our family during this difficult time. A special thank you to the Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care staff who took exceptional care of our Dad and shown compassion and support for our entire family. Donations may be made to the Aultman Women's Board Compassionate Care Center, 2821 Woodlawn N.W., Canton, OH 44708 in Tom's memory.

Tom was a lot of fun to work with and be around. He was always helpful and one of the hardest workers I knew. Very dedicated as well as generous.

Our family was very sad to hear about Tom´s passing. I knew Tom for most of my life. He was our next door neighbor and great friend. He was always there to help in whatever way he could. He was quite the character and we had many good times filled with laughter. He was a kind generous person and we will miss him. I´m sure he is thrilled to be with his sweet wife, Cindy and reconnecting with the 320 Taggart Johnson´s, Jim and Carol.

We are thinking of you and extending our deepest condolences.

Love, Cindy (Johnson) and Adam Meyerson
