Janice Allyn "Armstrong" McConnell

Janice Allyn (Armstrong) McConnell, age 71, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, surrounded by her family. Janice was born in Sault Ste. Marie on July 18, 1954, to Alfred and Bealuh Armstrong.

Janice moved with her family to Alpena, Michigan, where she graduated from Alpena Public Schools in 1972. After high school she attended Alpena community college. She returned to Sault Ste. Marie soon afterwards, and she married Terrance McConnell in 1976. She worked at War Memorial Hospital, Tendercare, and Medilodge, but her passion was for her family. She also was on the parish council at St Isaac Jouges Catholic church.

Janice was mother to Jason (Janet) McConnell of Dafter, Michigan, Brigid McConnell of Sault Ste. Marie and Patrick (Jennifer) McConnell, also of Sault Ste. Marie; grandmother to Corbin McConnell of Muskegon, Michigan, and Lorilai, Aislynn and Cayleigh McConnell, all of Sault Ste. Marie; brother, Terry Armstrong (Kathy), and sister in law, Donna Armstrong of Bay City, Michigan.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Terrance; parents, Alfred and Bealuh; brother, Alfred Armstrong; and her sister, Denice Howee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
