Janice Stone Miller, 77, of Reidsville, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Annie Penn Hospital after a prolonged illness.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church with Rev. Tim James officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 PM prior to the service and other times at the home.
Janice was born in Rockingham County to the late Ernest Dewey Stone and Sadie Louise Overby Stone. She graduated from Wentworth High School and married her sweetheart in 1966. As a military wife, she joined him during his service in the United States Air Force and traveled across much of the country from base to base.
They eventually made their home in the Mt. Carmel community. Janice was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church and was also an active member of the Etta Carter Ladies’ Circle, and a charter member of the Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She worked for 18 years with the American Tobacco Company, but her most important role was that of a devoted wife and mother. She found her greatest joy in supporting her grandchildren, spending countless hours attending their activities—whether it was t-ball, trap shooting, dance recitals or barrel racing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Stone.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul Neal Miller, Jr.; son, Kevin Miller and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Hunter and Harley Miller; sister-in-law, Carlotta Stone; nephew, Brian Stone and wife, Amy; niece, Cindy Stone; special friends, George and Cathy Case.
