Janice Moulton Obituary
Janice Karen (Baker) Moulton peacefully passed away at her home on October 18, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on February 16, 1933, in Morrill, Nebraska, the beloved only child of Clinton B. and Maude Ella Baker.
As an only child, Janice was devoted to making her parents, Maudie and Clinton, proud. She excelled academically and musically, becoming an accomplished violinist. After welcoming three daughters-Roxanne, Cherry, and Julie-in just three years, she set aside her violin to focus on motherhood. Roxanne, her eldest, recalls hearing her mother practice when she was little, though Cherry and Julie never did. Still, thanks to Maudie's glowing stories about Janice's musical talent, the girls grew up with deep admiration for her wonderful gift.
In 1951, Janice married the love of her life, Dusty Moulton, beginning a 73-year marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and adventure. When Dusty retired at age 50, the two enjoyed many wonderful years together pursuing their dreams and living life to the fullest.
Janice was a gifted cook, seamstress, and interior decorator. Ever curious and health-conscious, she often experimented with new diets-like the Pritikin diet-and loved recreating old recipes into healthier versions. Her "healthier" chocolate pie became a family favorite. As a talented seamstress, she could look at a garment, create a pattern from scratch, and sew it beautifully. Many nights, after Dusty went to bed, she would stay up late finishing a project for one of her girls.
Faith was a cornerstone of Janice's life. She believed deeply that God guided her every step. Raised in the Methodist Church, she later became a nondenominational Christian while raising her daughters. She was actively involved in the Christian Women's Club and found great joy and spiritual growth in neighborhood Bible studies.
Christmas was Janice's favorite time of year. She made the season magical through her decorating, cooking, and joyful spirit. She and her mother, Maudie, would often begin preparing for the next Christmas as early as January-creating memories that her family cherishes to this day.
Janice was also a dedicated runner for many years, often running six miles a day. Her commitment to health and fitness served as a lasting example to her family.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Janice's caregivers-Awatef Hassan, Brenda Isaacson, and Lisa Perkins-who lovingly cared for her in her final year. You became part of our family, and we are forever grateful for your compassion and devotion. We love you!
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Maudie Baker, her beloved husband Dusty, and her youngest daughter Julie.
She is survived by her daughters Roxanne (Gary) Nordquist and Cherry (Randy) Burns; grandchildren Dustin Nordquist, Sadie Stone, Rachael Arnold, Beth Anne Burns, Jessica Garvin, and Josh Rowan; and great-grandchildren Jaden Stone, Kyah Stone, Brayden Thrash, Brynley Thrash, Brooklyn Thrash, Rowan Garvin, Hawkins Garvin, Maelyn Rowan, Caleb Arnold, and twins Maudie and Micah Arnold.
Janice's legacy of love, faith, creativity, and perseverance will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
