Janice Oberle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wiefels Palm Springs Mortuary on Aug. 25, 2025.
Janice Barbara Oberle, 89, entered into rest on August 25, 2025.

Janice was born on July 8, 1936 to the late Edward and Frances Oberle of Branford, CT. After graduating Wilbur Cross High School, Janice went on to work as a secretary in the lumber industry. She worked for many years at Batter Lumber and Continental Lumber Company. She then worked in the trust department at Union New Haven Trust Building before retiring. Janice moved to Arizona in 2006. She lived there until February 2024 until she moved to Yucca Valley to be with her sister Joanne Collett (Oberle).

Janice enjoyed travelling the world and taking lots of photos. Everything she did was documented in photographs, placed into a slideshow, and shared with her family. Janice took pictures of everything and always made sure they got printed with extra copies to give to her family. She enjoyed classical music, reading books, and spending time with her family. Janice also had friends all over the world that she had been pen pals with since her teenage years and visited them on multiple occasions (England, Spain, Germany, and Australia).

Janice is survived by her brothers Alan Oberle (Lynne) and Edward Oberle (Anita), her sister Joanne Collett (the late Robert Collett), and the late Thomas Oberle. Janice never had children of her own, but she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were hers. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Michael Collett (Teresa), Stephanie Bianco (Jason), Lori Ferland (Tod), Scott Oberle, David Oberle, Erica Oberle, and Bill Oberle (Sandra). She also had great nieces and nephews Christina and Alyssa Oberle, Evan Oberle, and Kaylee Bianco.
