Janice R. Parrett

Janice R. Parrett, age 86, of Sun Prairie, WI, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in Sun Prairie, WI.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Joseph Redfern will officiate the services. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial rites will be held following the service at Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids.

Janice was born on June 5, 1939 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to the late Francis J. and Theresa (Pelot) Bushman. After graduating from Assumption High School in the class of 1956 Janice worked at King's Grocery Store before beginning her career with Consolidated Papers. Janice dedicated 30 years of service to Consolidated Papers, finishing her time there in the Cost Dept. In 1965, Janice became co-owner and operator of Polly's Cozy Inn for over 10 years. She finished her career as a salesclerk at Wal-Mart until her retirement in 2007. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cribbage and knitting. She shared her love of cribbage and her afghans with her entire family. She always enjoyed playing cards at the Nekoosa Senior Center with her sister, Kathy, where she also served as Secretary for many years. Janice was a selfless person and frequently volunteered in her community. She was awarded the "Volunteer of the Year" award by the mayor of Wisconsin Rapids for her time volunteering at the family center for abused women. She also helped the women's group at St. Vincent de Paul for funeral luncheons for many years. Above all, Janice loved travelling to see her children and their families as often as possible.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Keith) Gustafson, and Dawn (Tony) Enger; grandchildren, Niklas Gustafson, Christel (Hayden) Ford, Mathew Rivers, Joshua (Kayla) Rivers, Michael Szyryj, Nicole (Skylar) Rauls, and Ty (Stella) Enger; brother, Orville Bushman; brother-in-law, Richard Mines; and great-grandchildren, Ryder and Rowan Rauls, Owen Enger, and Elijah and Theodore Rivers.

Janice was preceded in death by her daughters, Lori Lynn Parrett, and Amy Susan Rivers; ex-husband, Donald Parrett; parents, Francis and Theresa Bushman; in-laws, Cliff and Lura Parrett; sisters, Kathleen Hamilton, and Judith Mines; and son-in-law, Daniel Rivers.
