Janice Parham Perkins, 94, of Leesburg, GA, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Dawson, GA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Calvin King will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Janice, known to her family at “Ma”, was born in Moultrie, GA on November 18, 1929 to Coy and Gladys Plymel. She grew up in Moultrie and graduated from Colquitt County High School in 1947. Janice moved to Albany, GA to attend Business School where she met her future husband, Charles Rayford “Ray” Perkins, Sr. They were married for fifty two years.
Janice was employed with Carlton Company for forty one years. She was a faithful member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church and it’s Sunday School Program. Janice also served on the Bereavement Committee where she was known for her coconut pies and pound cakes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Perkins, her sister Joyce Pedrick and her husband Ed.
Survivors include her children, Charles R. “Charlie” Perkins, Jr. and Beth Parnacott, her grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew) Roufs, Stewart (Adam Parrish) and Caitlin Cowart and her three great grandchildren, Coyle Roufs, Gideon Roufs and Lizzy Roufs.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM on Tuesday before the service at Mathews
