Norfolk - Janice (Evans) Potter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. Born on October 25, 1955, in Wagner, South Carolina, she lived a vibrant life filled with love and dedication, leaving this world just shy of her 70th birthday.

Janice began her career as a skilled carpenter working on boats, showcasing her talent and dedication to craftsmanship. She later transitioned to a managerial role at a t-shirt company, where her leadership skills shone brightly. In her final professional chapter, she found fulfillment serving as a housekeeping supervisor at a hotel, where her attention to detail and caring nature were deeply appreciated.

Janice's interests and passions were as diverse as they were joyful. She enjoyed shopping, golfing, bowling, and fishing, always eager to try something new. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she delighted in cooking and hosting cookouts, where she entertained friends and family with warmth and generosity. Most importantly, Janice cherished time spent with her family, nurturing and loving them above all else.

She was known for her kindness and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her spirit of generosity and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her, making her a very special woman indeed.

Preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Catherine (Ginyard) Evans, and her beloved son, James Reginald Brown, Janice's memory will be carried forward by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Potter; three granddaughters, Ashley, Brittney, and Courtney; and her precious great-granddaughter, Janiece. She also leaves behind siblings, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A celebration of Janice's life will be planned for a later date. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is assisting her family during this time. Those wishing to share memories and express their condolences are invited to do so at CandFServices.com.

In remembering Janice, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
