Janice Faye Riemersma was born August 1, 1947 in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Fannie (Engeltjes) Van Dieren. She grew up in rural Ireton and graduated from Western Christian High School.
Jan moved to Sioux Center in 1970 and was blessed with two children, Kristi and Jason. In the past, she worked at the Economy Shop, Casey’s General Store, and worked for over 20 years at Revival Animal Health.
Jan enjoyed line dancing, bowling, camping, but most important to her was her family. She tried to attend as many of her grandchildren’s events as she could. She would not only be rooting for her grandchildren, but she would also encourage their friends as well. Her family remembers her as the constant, funny, and perfect grandma.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kristi (Joel) Johnson of Ireton, IA and Jason Riemersma of Sioux Center, IA; 2 grandchildren, Taylor (Collin) Julius and Ross (Cassie) Johnson; 1 great grandchild, Hayes Julius; brother, Glenn (Jan) Van Dieren; nephew, Cody (Ashley) Van Dieren; niece, Kylee (Luke) Holt; great nieces and nephews, Harley, Jace, and Adalee Van Dieren, and Levi and Lainey Holt; along with many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Fannie.
Blessed be her memory.
