Janice A. Rock

anice A. Rock, 92, of Flat Rock Road, Morrisonville, passed away December 6, 2023 at her home under the care of Hospice of the North Country with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 11th, 1931, the daughter of Ralph and Sarah Sorrell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Rock and their son Kyle Robert. She was survived by her children, Kathy Solotky, Carol(David) Premore, Kevin(Diane) Rock, Kristine(Joe) Dougherty, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janice graduated from Plattsburgh College with a degree in teaching. She transitioned her career to Clinton County Social Services Department as a caseworker later becoming a senior caseworker until her retirement. Janice enjoyed being active and having fun. She was an avid walker, often walking on her property enthralled with its natural beauty. She loved to play the piano and enjoyed classical music, in addition she was an accomplished seamstress. Her love of reading and her 2 cats and dog filled her days with joy. However, most of all she loved spending time with her beloved family.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 10, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,. friends wishing may make donations in Janice's memory to Hospice of the North Country or the Elmore S.P.C.A.
