Janice G. Roope

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice G. Roope, 84, on December 13, 2024.
Janice passed peacefully at home with her loving family at her side. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Janice was born to the late Mary and Alfred Guillette. She married Bradley, the love of her life, in 1961 and they had 4 children together.
Everyone who knew Janice knew how much she loved reading, gardening, sewing, and following the stock market. Janice's favorite role was that of a grandparent. Her grandchildren affectionately called her "Nanny." She treasured her time with her grandchildren and spent countless hours in the kitchen with them baking her famous cookies. Janice and her husband Brad were active members of Free Christian Church in Andover, MA and served as volunteers at Bread and Roses and Cor Unum.
Janice retired from a rewarding career in accounting and finance working for the City of Haverhill. She took pride in overseeing the budget process for the city and enjoyed collaborating with all department heads.
Janice is survived by her husband, Bradley Roope of Haverhill, MA, her children Karen Szarek who resides with her husband Gerard in Truro, MA, Mark Roope who resides with his wife Linda in Haverhill, MA, Gregory Roope who resides in Charlotte, NC, and Lisa Rosario who resides with her husband John in Merrimac, MA, and her seven grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Matthew, Angela, Kimberly, Zachary, and Paige.
We couldn't have asked for a better parent, grandparent and devoted wife to Brad. We will miss Janice every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
