Tyler Gervasio, 29, of Methuen, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Fall River on August 18, 1996, Tyler was the cherished son of Celina (Martin) Willard and the late Jose Gervasio.
From the moment he entered this world, Tyler brought an incredible light with him. His bright smile, joyful spirit, and kind heart had a way of lifting everyone around him. Throughout his life, Tyler faced many medical challenges, but he carried them with remarkable strength and grace. He rarely complained and instead focused on spreading happiness to others. Whether with family, friends, or someone he had just met, Tyler always found a way to make people smile. His resilience, warmth, and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tyler was a proud graduate of Methuen High School, Class of 2014, where he was also a dedicated member of the JROTC program. He loved being active and had a natural athletic spirit. Tyler enjoyed playing basketball, practicing gymnastics in North Andover, and bowling in a league at Academy Lanes in Bradford. He was also a passionate competitor in the
Special Olympics at the Harvard University Athletic Complex, proudly earning many medals that he displayed alongside his cherished bowling trophy.
Tyler found joy in the simple things in life, especially good food. Mac & Cheese was his absolute favorite, and he always looked forward to family outings at Chili's and Red Robin's. Some of his happiest moments were spent on car rides with his mom, sister, and stepfather Joe - especially their trips to Walmart, where Tyler was known for happily filling the cart with his favorite snacks. At home, he loved playing the card game Trash with his sister and would often wait eagerly by the front door with a deck of cards in hand, ready for the next game.
Tyler had a deep love for animals and shared a special bond with his dogs, Kody and Dakota, as well as his bunny, Bella. He also had a unique and endearing hobby - ripping raffle tickets. Tyler loved it so much that he would often buy entire rolls from Staples, carefully tearing them in his own special order.
Music was another big part of Tyler's life. He especially loved The Beatles, whose songs could always bring a smile to his face. Tyler also enjoyed watching television, especially Roseanne, The Golden Girls, Grey's Anatomy, and his all-time favorite, Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Tyler leaves behind many who loved him deeply, including his mother, Celina (Martin) Willard, and stepfather Joe Willard of Methuen; his devoted sister, Linzee Gervasio; his Uncles Dennis and Mark Martin; his Auntie Mariana and Uncle Jeff; his Auntie Fibbie and Uncle Carlos; his Aunt Toni Ann (Martin) Beaulieu; his Uncle Gary Martin, and his cousins Brandon, Jason, and Evan. He is also survived by his stepsister Coleen Williams and her two sons, Peter and Jimmy Lupien. Tyler was predeceased by his father, Jose Gervasio, Stepsister, Amanda Willard, Grandmother Lillian Martin (Meme), Grandfather, Robert Martin (Pepe), Grandmother Maria Gervasio (Vavo), and Grandfather Antonio Gervasio (Vovo), along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Tyler's love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
