Janice Rusch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home - Iron Mountain on Feb. 23, 2026.
Janice Marie (O'Blenes) Rusch, 81, of Randville was called home to Jesus on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026.

She was born in Norway on March 30, 1944, the daughter of the late Alvin and Rose (Canavera) O'Blenes. Janice graduated from Norway High School 1962. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis where she worked for an insurance company. A few years later Janice moved back home. She met her true love, Larry Rusch, after his discharge from the Navy and on May 11, 1968, they were married at First Baptist Church in Norway. They shared 56 years together before Larry preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2024. Janice also enjoyed her time with Shopko working from 1985 until 2017, leaving just a couple years before the store closed.

Janice was a faithful member of the Randville Bible Church and received great comfort and encouragement from her weekly visits with her church family. She was the loudest family cheerleader for the Green Bay Packers. She kept both her mind and hand-eye coordination sharp with puzzles of all sorts, sewing, and embroidery work. Great care was taken to make holiday gatherings extra special and her food was superb. "Gramcracker" doted on her grandsons and her most recent royal addition to her household, Janice's pampered feline companion, Nefertiti.

Janice will be deeply missed by her 2 daughters, Pamela (Peter) Alfredson and Paula (Ian) Miller; 2 grandsons, Ethan Miller and Eric Alfredson; sister, Barbara (Paul) Heupel; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, with Pastor James Janofski officiating the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
