Janice Saltzman Obituary

Janice Zelda Saltzman (nee Shulman) of Silver Spring, MD, died peacefully on September 29, 2025. Beloved mother of Scott, Barbara, and Paul Saltzman. A treasured mother-in-law to to Victoria Tanner Saltzman, Richard Frederick, and the late Rebecca Nitkin. An adored grandmother to Erin Scrivens (Christopher), Jessica Mele (Steven), Allison Saltzman, Caroline Saltzman, and Cydney Saltzman (Roggen Frick), and the doting great grandmother of Avery and Ashlyn Scrivens and Evelyn and Lucas Mele. Janice was the adored daughter of the late Louis Shulman and Hilda Pugatch Shulman, and her step-mother, Harriette Shulman. She was a devoted big sister to Paula Seamon (Robert) and Debbi Imberman (Stuart). She was preceded in death by her cherished husband Harold A. Saltzman and daughter Barbara Frederick. Janice's long life was enriched by special relationships with the late Sidney Salins, Herbert Hodes, and her dear Natalia McGonegal. She was blessed with a wide circle of caring, lifelong friends who supported Janice during the challenges she confronted in life and celebrated the many extraordinarily happy times. She is remembered and appreciated by her extended family circle, including many cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families. Services will be held at Temple Beth Ami, 14330 Travilah Rd., Rockville, MD on October 6 at 10 a.m. with interment at noon at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Rd., Adelphi, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates your donation to a charity of your choice in Janice's honor.
