Janice D. Scheib

Janice D Scheib, age 96, of Hegins, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at her residence. She was born on Thursday, December 13, 1928, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Norman Otto and the late Mildred (Straub) Otto. She was a 1946 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. Janice was a seamstress in area garment factories prior to her retirement. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. Janice enjoyed puzzles, reading, camping, needle point, and spending time with her family. She and her late husband spent great years in Dunnellon Florida. Her husband, Donald R Scheib, passed away in 2017. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Otto and Jack Otto. She is survived by three sons, Keith D (Penny) Scheib of Pageland, SC, Fred E (Sharon) Scheib of Panama City, FL, and Eric J (Catherine) Scheib of Harrisburg; a daughter, Polly A (Daniel) Bolich of Sacramento; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; a sister, Judith Huntzinger of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church. Burial of both Janice and her late husband Donald will follow the service in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
