Jetmore – Janice L. Scothorn, 82, passed away December 28, 2023 at Hodgeman County Health Center ISB, Jetmore.
She was born July 25, 1941 in Dodge City, the daughter of Raleigh and Nola Burdue Scothorn.
A lifetime area resident, she worked in physical therapy as a restorative aide. She was a member of Jetmore Methodist Church and the VFW Lady's Auxiliary, Dodge City.
Survivors include: three sons, Dallas (Kris) Scothorn, Centropolis, Kansas, David Shearer, Magnolia, Texas, Darrel (Candi) Shearer, Wright, Kansas; a daughter, Dena (Brad) McCall, Eagle Rock, Missouri; one brother, Leon Scothorn, Pampa, Texas and one sister, Sharon Rudzik, Jetmore, Kansas, eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dodie Craghead, Shirley Pfaff; two brothers, Lloyd Scothorn and Randy Scothorn.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, with Carolyn Tarman presiding.
Memorials may be given to Ford County Humane Society in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, PO Box 663, Jetmore, Kansas 67854. Personal condolences may be left at www.beckwithfuneralhome.com.
