Janice Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hillcrest Funeral Home - Littlefield on Jan. 21, 2026.
Janice Julie Smith, 82, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Littlefield, Texas. She was born on December 23, 1943 to Clifford and Elanor (Bergum) Ferrer.

Janice married Ronald William Smith on May 23, 1981. She was married to her beloved husband, Ronald, forty-four years. Janice moved to Littlefield, Texas and worked at Lowes Food King for years. She then went on to manage the Crescent Park Motel in Littlefield for fifteen years. Janice had a kind in spirit. Her love for the Lord was admirable. For enjoyment, Janice would read. Janice loved to read the Bible, finding comfort, strength, and a profound spiritual connection every time she read scriptures. Those who knew Janice can remember how much she loved walking. She would walk everywhere she went. Walking gave Janice time to reflect on her faith-based life. She will be remembered for her gratitude and kindness.

Those left to cherish her memory are her dearest husband, Ronald William Smith of Littlefield, Texas; a stepson, Ronald Smith Jr. and wife Kyong of Level Plains, Alabama; two stepdaughters, Sue Ann Smith and Eric Ribenboim of Kentucky, Brenda Jenkins-Ham and spouse Ronald of Paducah, Illinois; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Duane, Donald, David, Don and Dean and a sister, Jean Ferrer. Janice was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Elanor (Bergum) Ferrer.
