Janice Louise Smock
April 24, 1945 – March 13, 2026
Janice Louise Smock, 80, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Born on April 24, 1945, in Paoli, she was known for her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion, and the deep love she held for her family.
Janice’s greatest joy and purpose were found in caring for her husband, Tom Smock. Their marriage was the center of her world, and she approached each day with a steadfast dedication that reflected the depth of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her father, Robert Stroud; her mother and stepfather, Anna (Strange) and Francis Quinlin; her brother, Larry Stroud; her sister, Ella Mae Perkins; and her sons, Tony Ray and Ricky Dale Busick.
Janice is survived by her sister, Roberta Ash, and her sister in law, Mona Stroud. She is also survived by the daughters she welcomed through marriage: Deborah Fugate (Steve Sneed), Wanda Mohlenbruck, and Sghelda Hostetler (Joe); her grandchildren, A.R. Fulkerson, Ashley Hentz, Jacob Fugate, R.T. Knight, Eli Mohlenbruck, Niles Hostetler, and Nolan Hostetler; and her great grandchildren, Ella, Jobe, Logan, Camden, Ezra, Myah, Brynlee, and Hadley.
Janice will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to those she loved, and the warmth she offered so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the strength she showed throughout her life.
Service Information
A service to honor Janice’s life will be held on March 19, 2026 at Dillman Scott Funeral Home in Paoli, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service and procession to the Paoli Community Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Southern Care Hospice Services, whose kindness meant so much to Janice, or to her beloved church, Valeene Wesleyan Church.
