Janice Stephens Obituary
Jan made her career as an RN. This took her to several different places: Hutcheson Labor and Delivery, Blood Assurance, and home health. She also worked as a clinical researcher where she was able to travel the country. In her spare time, she loved to go on cruises several times a year and take retail shopping for therapy. Jan earned a couple of nicknames over the years. To the Shriners she was "Lady Jan" and to the Girl Scouts she earned the name "Moon".
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, M. Dewayne Stephens; daughter, Amanda (Greg) Hamilton; grandchildren, Rachel Hamilton and Riley Hamilton; brother, Tom Long; brother-in-law, Winston Stephens; sister-in-law, LaWanna (Raymond) Chang; nephews, Matthew Long, Tristan Long, Stephen Wilson, and Britt Wilson; and nieces, Buffy Stephens, April Stephens, Leigh Stephens, and Sydney Stephens.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 pm to the hour of service at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
