Janice (Reinhard) Stiefvater
Janice (Reinhard) Stiefvater, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 1, 1951, in Pittsburgh, PA, Janice was the daughter of Frank and Anna Jean Reinhard, both of whom have preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Dave Stiefvater, her brother, Frank Reinhard, and the loving memories of her late sister, Darla Rushing.
Janice journey through life was marked by her deep faith and commitment to her family. She married the love of her life, Dave Stiefvater, on June 24, 1978, at St. Francis Cathedral in Baker City, Oregon. Together, they shared a beautiful partnership, serving on the Marriage Encounter Presenting Team for three years, and actively participating in their Catholic community. Their love and devotion to one another were evident in all they did.
As a dedicated educator, Janice spent 26 years working for the Ontario School District, where she made a significant impact in the Special Education Department. Her compassion and understanding touched the lives of countless students and families, reflecting her unwavering commitment to nurturing and supporting those around her.
In 1981, Janice and Dave expanded their family through the adoption of their two sons, Jeremy and Justin. Janice love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Whether camping under the stars, traveling to new destinations, or simply enjoying the warmth of the sun on a beach in Belize, Costa Rica, or the Dominican Republic, Jan zest for life was infectious. Jan other love was music and she was always up for a "Little trip" to see her beloved Rolling Stones or Eagles in concert.
In recent years, Jan found joy in spending time with family and friends in Yuma, Arizona, Florida, and Charleston, Oregon, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. She loved her yearly October trips to Las Vegas to celebrate Dave's birthday and play the slot machines. She and the girls even took a road trip last year, just to stand on that corner in Winslow, Arizona. It had to be such a fine sight to see. Her love for traveling with friends and family brought joy to those around her, and her laughter and smile will be deeply missed.
Jan will be remembered for her unwavering love, her generous spirit, and her ability to bring people and family together. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave to all of those that she touched throughout her time with us.
