Janice Stultz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton on Jan. 16, 2026.
Janice was born August 12, 1935 in Wartburg, TN to Edith and JC Chambers. Jesus called her home at sunrise January 15, 2026. She passed away quietly at home surrounded by family and love. As a young girl, she spent her time in Lancing, TN before moving to her grandparent's farm. She passed her time with her studies, basketball, softball, and track. She sang in the church choir and spent her days with her friends Marcella and Willie Mae. She took the lessons of homecooking, family values, and Biblical teachings with her when she left Tennessee for Florida.

Her first job was as a ticket taker at the Rex Theater. She loved Pensacola and remembers long evenings of dancing at the San Carlos Hotel. She and her best friend, Betty Martin enjoyed singing and dancing their way through good times and bad times. She was a dedicated Red Cross Volunteer helping the community prepare for hurricanes. She taught young children to swim and enjoyed time at the beach. Later in life, she worked for Sacred Heart Hospital until her retirement. She dedicated all of her free time to taking care of family and enjoying her great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a prankster who made all people feel cared for and loved. Her laugh was infectious and her wit remained with her throughout her life.

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, brother Tommy, sister Sue, grandson Ashley, and her dear friends Betty and Barbara, amongst others.

Janice is survived by her sister, Patti Pritchett; son, Randall (Joyce) Sheffield; daughters, Tammi Weaver and Melinda (Amy) Stultz; granddaughter, Heather Lee; grandson, Mason Bass; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Payton, Kallen, Kaleb, Nicholas, and Matthew. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were dearly loved by Janice.

Janice was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed but we all take instruction and comfort from her faith and devotion to Jesus Christ. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible nurses and social workers at Vitas healthcare; specifically, Lexi Buker and Shannon Bruno.

Janice was always worried about children in our community who are food insecure. In lieu of flowers, please make donations of food or funds to:
