Janice Carolyn Watson

Janice Causey Watson passed away on November 11, 2025, a week shy of her 83rd birthday. Born on November 18, 1942, to Rufus and Vecie Causey, she was a lifelong resident of Lagrange.
She was a public-school teacher with the Troup County system for most of her career and few things made her happier after retirement than running into a former student. She remembered them all. She was a gifted gardener and loved to share her harvest of vegetables and flowers with neighbors, friends and her church family at Unity Baptist.
But her greatest joy and her greatest gift was how she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Singing silly songs, trips to McDonalds, playing outside and around the kitchen table in fierce domino competitions-she gave them each priceless memories. They are her legacy.
She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Watson, and an adored daughter-in-law, Jill Watson. Along with her 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, she is survived by daughters Lynn (Kelly) Taylor and Teresa Duquette; and her devoted son, Larry Watson.
Her mind and her heart are at peace now and what a happy reunion she must be having, but she will be missed this side of heaven.
