She was born on June 9, 1938, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late James Honnold and Ada (Spinks) Honnold. Janice worked at United Tech for over 40 plus years, where she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting; but above all she loved spending her time with her family and loved ones.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Robert "Bob" Wheeler; daughter, Becky (Danny) Merriam; grandchildren, Mitchell Wheeler, Adrienne (Jaren) Barkey, Derek Wheeler, Megan (Clayton) Carpenter, Mckenzie (Mike) Seevers, Alie Hicks; great grandchildren, Makala (Dalton) Matney, Laura-May Wheeler, Zach Wheeler, Docken (Timea) Wheeler, Gannin Carpenter, Gwen Hicks, Lena Hicks, Wrenn Barkey, Kaylynn Seevers; great great grandchildren, Aaiden, Daxton, Cambria, Titus Matney, Jasmine Cradlebaugh, Maddix, Lawson, Emmett, and Everly Wheeler; special dog, Hopper; daughter-in-laws, Kristie Wheeler and Mickey Muncey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert "Bobby" Wheeler Jr.; grandson, Nicholas Wheeler; brother, Dean Honnold; 3 sisters: Dorothy Campbell, Petey Weimer, and Irene Evans.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice for the love and care given to Janice.
Calling hours will be held on Friday November 21, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude services at St. Paul Cemetery in Zanesville.
