THE CHARM AND CONQUESTS OF A BEATIFIC LADY
(Obituary)
Mrs. Janice C. Williams transitioned from earthly habitation to golden streets and the light of heaven's care on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A Celestial Graduation Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Grace Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 3901 N. 37th Street,
Tampa, FL 33610, with Pastor James R. Reed, Jr., Officiant and Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue,
Tampa, FL 33610.
Mrs. Janice C. Williams was born on June 11, 1944, to the late Albert Williams and the Late Luedester Dennard Williams in
Tampa, Florida. She was the "baby sister" who was tenderly venerated by her brothers (Clarence Copeland, Luther Copeland, Willie "Bill" Copeland, George Copeland, Alphonso Williams, and Lindsey Williams).
Janice was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton Senior High School in 1962. Her quest for educational advancement led to her obtaining an Associate Degree at Hillsborough Community College, and she went further to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Childhood Education at the University of South Florida. Her love for enriching the cultivation of children caused her to dedicate over 35 years as a Professional Classroom Instructor at McDonald, Riverhills, and Kenly Elementary Schools.
Janice was nurtured in a home that taught the principles of Christian living and committed her life to Christ at an early age in Grace Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Admirable notice was taken of Janice's phenomenal soprano voice as she yielded this gift from her youth in myriad functions at the church. Her multi-faceted talents have been manifested in the gifts of help and administration, computer technology, Bible teaching, secretarial assistance, velvety vocal aerobics, and mission/benevolent endeavors. Janice found great joy in providing love and hospitality to everyone who entered the doors of her church while serving as an Usher. She did not limit these distributions to the corridors of her church, but also seized opportunities to shed Christ's light and love everywhere she journeyed. She was dedicated to operating efficiently in many ministries of her local church and was faithful in supporting the associations and conventions. If her presence at events could not be possible, she would make certain that her generous financial support was prompt.
Love's full expression was chronicled on November 14, 1970, when she was joined in holy matrimony to Reginald C. Williams. Perhaps her gorgeous grey or silver outfits (before and after marriage) sparked their expansive quixotic atmosphere! The intensity of love and adoration they shared crystalized the concept of "inseparable." They enjoyed exploring the cuisines of various restaurants, attending classic football games, relishing family gatherings, and traveling by car to various sites – "together" was the pulse of their existence.
Generous hearts share whatever they have, affirm and validate the good in others, give freely, provide wise counsel, have open hands, and are generous to all they meet. Janice had a generous heart and we are grateful God shared her with us. We are all inspired by her kindness, foresight, and tenacity. Janice enjoyed shopping trips to Sawgrass Mall with co-workers. Camaraderie, compassion, and commitment are three of the descriptions given by those with whom she interacted. We celebrate the life of this woman, who meant so much to, and did so much for, so many people – especially children!
Remembering her lovingly are her husband of over 55 years: Deacon Reginald C. Williams; Brother: Deacon Alphonso (Carrie) Williams; Sister(in-law): Imogene Campbell; Angelic Attendant: Lorean Reaves; and the entire Grace Mary Missionary Baptist Church family. It would cause enormous lament to Janice's heart to miss naming every person who poured love on her and those she sincerely loved. Space is inadequate, however, to name the vast amount of her family members, co-workers, friends, kith and kin. May "everyone" whose names start with alphabets from a to z be acknowledged here. You know who you are!
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Grace Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 3901 N. 37th Street,
Tampa, FL 33610.
