Janie Yvonne Whitehead Jent passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Whitesburg ARH. She was born on July 14, 1952 being 73 years and 2 days old at the time of her passing.

Janie was the daughter of the late Wade and Vaxie Caudill Whitehead. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmy (Bo) and Denny Whitehead, 1 sister, Diane Slone, and an infant sister, Juanita Kay.

Janie is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, Ralph Jent, 1 daughter Laquatta "Doodle" Darlene Brashear, and 1 granddaughter, the light of her life, Janna Raquel Napier. She is also survived by her brother Kenny (Sue) Whitehead of Blackey, and her sister Judy (Curt) Cole of Hazard, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones to mourn her passing.

Janie spent her life working and caring for others. She took extra care of Ralph and her girls! She was also known in her community as the AVON lady, always making sure everyone looked pretty and smelled good! The most important thing she ever did was to turn her life over to the Lord. She was happy in her church and faced her sickness with a strong faith in God. She would tell everyone, "Don't worry about me because God has everything in control."

Funeral Services will be held for Janie on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Letcher Funeral Home starting at 1:00 P.M. with Danny Dixon, Elwood Cornett, and Jim Fields officiating. Visitation: Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 5:00 P.M. for the family and 6:00 P.M. for the public at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cleve Caudill Cemetery at Blackey, KY.
