Janie Mae Roach, 61, of Piedmont, beloved wife of Kenneth Roach and the last surviving member of her natural born family, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Alberta Moon Merritt.
Janie's family was the center of her universe, and she was the heart of their world. Janie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, pouring her love and affection into her family's lives.
Janie had a unique gift for making every person she met feel like a friend, and her infectious smile brightened the lives of everyone around her.
Janie's enthusiasm for Clemson was a defining part of her life. She was a dedicated Clemson Tigers fan and could often be found cheering passionately for her beloved team.
Janie was loved beyond compare. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love touched the lives of many, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to beloved husband of 40 years, she is survived by sons, Michael Stalling, Kenny Roach, and Justin Roach; and grandchildren, Morgan, Katie, Anna, and Jacob Stalling, and Callie and Emsley Roach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Roach.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be Friday, September 15,2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
