Janina Plona

Janina Plona, 92, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Hospital of Central CT. She was a loving wife of the late Kazimierz Plona. Born in Dobry Las, Poland, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Antonina (Sliwka) Pawelczyk, she came to the US in 1993 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
She was a very hardworking person. Janina loved to sew, cook and spend time with her loving family. She also loved joking, listening to music and dancing. She will be deeply missed by all.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her son: Jan and Krystyna Plona of Plainville, CT; his daughter: Agata and Krzysztof Ogrodnik of Bellmawr, NJ; her grandchildren: Aneta and Dariusz Bazan of Marlborough, CT, Kamila Plona and Patryk Plona, both of Vernon, CT, Mariusz and Brooke Ogrodnik of Virginia, Tomasz Ogrodnik and Mike Ogrodnik, both of Bellmawr, NJ; her great grandchildren: Aviana Baho and Krystian Bazan and extended family in the US and Poland. Janina was predeceased by her sister Rozalia Poreda.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 23 form 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. Her funeral service will begin on Friday, May 24, at 8:45 a.m. at Burritt Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain.
