Janis Lynn Leppla

Janis Lynn Leppla (née Diehl), aged 68, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Lima, Ohio, the same city where she was born on March 30, 1956. Janis lived her life with boundless enthusiasm and love, embracing every moment with her family and friends. Renowned for her culinary skills, she was often found cooking up feasts that not only filled the stomachs but also warmed the hearts of those around her. Her home was a hub of joy, open to all, reflecting her generous and loving spirit.

Janis leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children, Clark Eric, Rebecca Hastings, and Jeremy, as well as her grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings Barb Patterson, Peggy (Alan) Stawarski, Doris (Tom) DeCamp, and Scott (Kellie) Diehl, and her step-father Allen Niehaus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry John Diehl and Patricia (Dahill) Niehaus, and her brothers Rex, John, and Ray Diehl.

Janis's life was enriched by the deep bonds she shared with her first husband and lifelong best friend, Clark (Dee) Sturgeon, and her close friend Phyllis Chancey, who was a steadfast support until the end.

A graveside service will be held at a later date to honor Janis's memory. Those who knew her will remember a woman who lived passionately and loved unconditionally, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.
