Janis Painter Obituary
Janis married Fred Kenneth Painter October 11,1953, and they spent 68 years together and raised three sons, Larry Lee Painter (Edythe), Kenneth Ray Painter (Rebecca), and Michael Byron Painter (Jenny) all of Bowling Green.
Janis was the valedictorian of Tompkinsville Class of 1954, served as the office manager and Vice President of Universal Equipment, and was a member of Cumberland Trace (formerly Lehman Avenue) Church of Christ and former member of Delafield Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, husband, a son (Kenneth Painter), and her step-brothers.
She was the proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren, Jeromy Painter (Rhonda) of Georgia, Tabitha Gray (Derek) of Tennessee, Rheanna Plemons (Charles), Stephanie Waters (Jordan), Emily Garrity (Will), and Melissa Painter all of Bowling Green and 11 great-grandchildren, Amanda Murz (Andrew), Abbigail Painter, and Caleb Taylor of Georgia, Joseph Painter (Vanessa) of Fort Campbell, Kirstin Waters, Aubree Garrity, Kimberly Waters, Caden Plemons, Andrew Garrity, Cole Green, Connor Green all of Bowling Green, and many step great-grandchildren along with 2 great-great-grandsons Za'kai Williams and Za'mir Williams.
In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind very special cousins, Mike (Billie) Trammell, Jimmy Trammell, Steve (Gina) Trammell, Sheryl Trammell along with many friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday January 1, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday January 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Friday and be conducted by family friend, Brian Proctor. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens.
