Jann Kathryn Swedock, 79, of Lake Ridge, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 23, 2025.
Jann shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Robert. Together they raised three children-Brian (Shannon), Sarah (Jen), and Patrick (Kieran) and her love extended even further to her treasured grandchildren, Zeke, Justin, Nicholas, and Ryn.
Jann is predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Zajac, and her brother, Christopher. She is survived by her siblings, Mark Zajac (Dorothy), Kay Bourdon (Paul), Sue Crist (Don), Meg Baker (Barry) and her sister-in-law, Kathy Centola (Glenn). She will also be missed by a loving, extended family of many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were touched by her kindness.
Jann was a 47-year cancer survivor who continued to serve others throughout her lifetime. She was passionate about her focus on early childhood intervention and had to re-learn how to adapt as a Physical Therapist as an amputee to continue her career. She was equally committed to her faith and became a Chaplain to help counsel and guide those in need of spiritual support. That same compassion shone in her personal life, where she found her greatest happiness simply being with her family.
Jann will be remembered for her quiet strength, her unwavering faith and the deep, love she had for those who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.at Jefferson Funeral Home, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12807 Valleywood Drive, Lake Ridge, VA.
