Janusz Ptak, a cherished soul and beloved patriarch, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in North Riverside, Illinois, after a battle with illness. Born on August 14, 1957, in Debica, Poland, Janusz's life was a testament to his enduring strength, love, and faith.
Janusz was the devoted son of the late Edward and Pelagia, and he carried the essence of their nurturing spirits in his every action. He was a loving husband to Boguslawa, his partner in life's journey, and a guiding light to his children, Katarzyna, Krzysztof, and Pawel. His siblings, Malgorzata and the late Roman, shared in the bond of family that was central to Janusz's world. His life was further blessed with the joy of his grandchildren, Wiktor, Eliza, Dominik, Klaudia, and Kasandra, who will forever remember their grandfather's tender love and wisdom. Janusz's legacy continues through his sons-in-law, Arek, and daughters-in-law, Magdalena and Sarah, who became part of the close-knit family he cherished. His granddogs, Glitter and Lucky, were also a source of joy and companionship.
Janusz's early years were spent in the scenic landscapes of Poland, where he served in the Polish Army and honed his skills as a farmer. His journey led him to master carpentry, a trade he studied with dedication and passion. For 30 years, Janusz worked as a carpenter, crafting not just structures but also the framework of a strong community. His commitment to his faith was unwavering, as demonstrated by his service as an usher at St. Mary of Czestochowa. Janusz's Catholic values were the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in every step and decision.
Janusz enjoyed watching sports, the art of woodworking, and, most of all, spending precious moments with his family. His ability to fix and create with his hands was not just a skill but a means to express his love and passion.
Janusz was a man of many virtues: loving, passionate, and remarkably handy. He approached life with a warmth that drew people to him, and he gave of himself generously, both in knowledge and in spirit.
The memory of Janusz Ptak will be held in the hearts of those who knew him as a beacon of love and resilience. His spirit will live on in the cherished moments shared, the lessons taught, and the love that will continue to grow in the family he so adored. Though we mourn his loss, we celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless ways he enriched our lives. Rest in peace, Janusz, until we meet again in the glory of God's kingdom.
