Mr. Jared A. "Furly" Guidry

Jared A. "Furly" Guidry, 44, a native and resident of Galliano passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church on Monday, June 26th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with a private burial at a later date.
Furly is survived by his wife, Angela M. Guidry; children, Rylan Emile Guidry, and Aubrie Joan Guidry; father, Johnny A. Guidry (Ella Ledet); brother, Jason Guidry; mother-in-law, Terrie Melancon.
Jared was preceded in death by his mother, Joan LeBouef Guidry; grandparents, Alvin LeBouef and Eula Mae "Blackie" Egle (Milton), and Emile and Pauline Kraemer Guidry; father-in-law, Rickey J. Melancon.
He was our HERO! The man we could depend on for anything and everything! He could build or fix just about anything! He was like MacGyver but better he was a Jared and it was amazing having a Jared around! He was a welder, a port captain, the captain of the Lady Dolcina, an amazing shrimp and fish slayer, an avid sportsman, an excellent carpenter, an incredible Daddy and Husband, a son, a brother, a son in law, a nephew, a cousin and a friend! He loved his family with everything he had and wanted nothing more than to provide for his family. He would stop to help anyone who needed help family, friend, or stranger it didn't matter. If there were shrimp and fish to be caught, flounder to be gigged, a deer or duck to be hunted, a black pot to cook in, a garden to plant or a chicken to raise, he was there ready to go and ready to learn! He was so very proud and beyond excited about the hunting camp in Mississippi. We will forever cherish the short time we spent with him there. All he wanted to do was fix the dock, catch a couple of fish, chop a couple trees and build some food plots all to be ready for hunting season to watch his children kill their first deer. He will be remembered most for his smile, his pranks, his personality, his accomplishments, his generosity, his love for life, his amazing cooking skills, out fishing just about anyone and everyone, and for letting you know what you did wrong but telling you what needs to be done to fix it! He will forever be loved and forever be our Hero, our Daddy and our Captain of the ship! Gone too soon but never forgotten!
