Neva Helen Lee Hebert, 92, a native of Cut Off and a resident of Larose, passed away on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026.
Visitation will be held at 9:00AM until funeral time at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Larose on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026. Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Mausoleum.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Paul and wife, Myra (Hebert), John Anthony and wife, Rachelle (Orgeron), James Philip and wife, Marie (Robert) and Robert Matthew and wife, Julia (Lawshae); her grandchildren, Adam, Hayley (Mike Brienza), Alex (Samantha Rink), Jamie, Melanie, Celeste and Emilie Hebert; her great grandchildren Bianka and Giovanni Brienza and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex J. Hebert Jr; her parents, Paul and Sophie Thibodaux Lee; her sisters, Catherine Fournet, Evelyn Gauthier, Shirley Delahoussaye and Sophie LeBlanc.
She was a devout Catholic and Eucharistic Minister. Like her mother and sisters, she was an educator and taught for 30 years. The majority of this time she taught 3rd grade at Holy Rosary Catholic School. She was a positive role model for her sons and grandchildren and the many students she taught. She loved to work in her flower garden and spend time with her family.
We’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to her kind and loving caregivers, Jada, Mary, Lauren, Mona, and Tami. We are very grateful for the support of Fr. Dean Danos and Deacon Brent Bourgeois. Thanks also go to the doctors, nurses, aides and staff of Ochsner St. Anne Hospital Raceland, Ochsner New Orleans, The Hope Hospice team, and Acadian Ambulance. Thank you for the kindness and compassion during Neva’s illness.
Pallbearers will be Mark, John, James, Rob, Adam, and Alex Hebert.
The casket was provided by members of St. Joseph Abbey in Covington.
