Jared excelled at everything he set his mind to. In his childhood he played baseball and was always considered to be one of the best 2nd basemen in his league. In addition to baseball, Jared had a very deep passion for diving and was the Colorado State Champion of High Diving for his age bracket in 1988 and 1989. Jared was fearless from the day he was born. During the warmups for diving competitions he would climb the 10 and 20 meter (33 and 65 foot) diving platforms, and perfectly execute a multitude of dives, to the shock and awe of his coaches, teammates, parents and everyone in the stands. His platform dives had to be executed during warmups because, at 10 years old, he was too young to actually compete. It was fun to watch the crowd during one of those practice platform dives because he was so little, but his performance was so big. Jared graduated from McClain High School in 1998.
As an adult, Jared perfected many building and remodeling trades and could basically do it all. He was a master craftsman for both commercial and residential- an electrician and absolutely loved laying tile. His work was always very impressive and of the highest quality. Jared loved bowling, softball, hunting, fishing, riding ATV's, water sports, world-wide traveling, gambling and gaming. He never missed a family gathering and always brought the smiles, sunshine and enthusiasm to everything in which he participated.
Jared's greatest achievement was his only son, Avery/AJ, who was his shining star. Jared set an outstanding example of how effective co-parenting could raise a strong young man who is nurtured, loved and supported by everyone, in an extended family. Jared provided Avery with the love, support and guidance that only a dad could provide. He was so very, very proud of Avery and Jared's contagious and brilliant smile was always present when he shared stories of his son and his accomplishments.
Jared provided much love and support to his family and friends during his years, always wanting to ensure that everyone was taken care of. He is dearly missed but taught us all some lessons to live by. He will be cherished forever as he deeply touched the hearts of so many during his 43 years. Jared, until we meet again, you will always be in our hearts.
