Jared Paul Kenney

Jared Paul Kenney, 32, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Biddeford on April 7, 1991, to Paul and Debbie (Boyer) Kenney. He grew up in Sanford and attended local schools up to Jr. High School and then went to The New School in Kennebunk. He thoroughly enjoyed attending there. His experience provided a unique blend of education, hands-on learning, community service, and personal growth. They provided the opportunity to travel to Louisiana twice where he stayed for a month to assist AmeriCorps efforts to clean up after hurricane Katrina. He also enjoyed doing the landscaping at the school for his senior project. He then went on to University of Southern Maine to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Sociology with an American Sign Language minor. After high school he was active in the deaf community as an interpreter and advocate.
Jared was currently employed as a quality engineer at Pratt & Whitney and enjoyed his job there.
He was young, but wise beyond his years. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and that they were seen and heard. He was a great and caring listener and people knew they could trust him.
As a child, Jared traveled with his parents and got to experience far-off destinations that created wonderful memories.
He was a self-taught musician, playing the guitar and drums, looking forward to his Friday night jam sessions with the boys. He enjoyed riding his side by side, camping, playing disc golf, being at the lake, and helping his dad. He also cherished his Mustang.
Mostly, Jared was loving and devoted to his family. He always went above and beyond to make sure they knew they were loved and cared for. He was funny, energetic, admirable, smart, and loving. He is gone too soon and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Jared is predeceased by his grandparents Harry W. Kenney, Carol A. Mead-Kenney, Marlene Boyer-Bean, and his mother-in-law Kathy Richer Emerson.
Survivors include his loving wife Sarah Kenney, of Sanford his daughter Annalee Faith Kenney, his parents Paul and Debbie Kenney of Acton, his maternal grandfather Gordon McFarlane, his father-in-law Richard Emerson, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins, and his beloved dogs Emmett, Buddy, and Luke.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 1:00 at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, with a celebration of life immediately following at the Sanford Elks Club.
