Jared Simmons, 80, of Head Waters died Thursday evening, July 11, 1991 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 30, 1910 at Pendleton County, WV, a son of James H. and Maggie (Botkin) Simmons,
His wife, Christina (Wooddell) Simmons, died December 1, 1979.
He was a member of Crummett Run Church of the Brethren, a farmer and owned and operated Simmons Grain Mill until 1964. Surviving are a son, Nelson Simmons of Head Waters; a granddaughter, Donna White; two great-grandchildren, Miranda and J.J. White of Verona.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. John Garber Jr., with burial in Crummett Run Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wilmer, Roger, Richard and Herbert Botkin, Charles Varner, Gilmer Ervine, Warren Mitchell and Johnny Whitecotton.
The family will receive friend from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home at McDowell.
