Kenneth Lee Simmons

Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Simmons, 73 of Galion, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Presidential Post-Acute in Marion.

Kenny was born on May 31, 1952, in Mt. Gilead to the late Betty (Simmons) Simp.

Kenny was a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School, Class of 1972. After high school, he faithfully served in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 until 1976. Following his time in the service, Kenny would build a successful career, later retiring from Whirlpool in 2017. Kenny married Barbara Wigton on September 25, 1993, and they cherished 28 years together before her passing on April 6, 2022.

Kenny was a dedicated member of the New Hope Community Church in Bucyrus. He was committed to assisting with the church's food pantry. Kenny also enjoyed watching NASCAR and attending all his close family's high school events. He enjoyed cheering them on, whether it was on the field or during choir or band concerts.

Kenny is survived by his stepchildren; David (Sabrina) Darling of AR., Deborah (Greg) Darling of Columbus and Dennis Darling of Warsaw, 9 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, including Robin Windbigler.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Gompf Funeral Service - Galion Chapel, 303 Portland Way N., from 11:00am until 1:00pm. A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm at Fulton Cemetery, 136 W. Main St., Fulton, OH 43321.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Community Church in Bucyrus.
